British Composer Awards
Congratulations to the winners of this year's British Composer Awards. The winners included John Tavener for his liturgical work Ex Maria Virginie; Simon Holt in the Orchestral category for A Table of Noises; sound artist Mark Peter Wright for A Quiet Reverie, winner of the Sonic Art category; and Jason Yarde, who collected the inaugural award for Contemporary Jazz Composition for his work Rhythm and Other Fascinations. The British Composer Awards are presented by The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and sponsored by PRS for Music. Tartan Clef
Congratulations to Scottish film composer Patrick Doyle (pictured) who has been awarded the PRS for Music Outstanding Contribution accolade in this year's Tartan Clef Awards. The Tartan Clef Awards support Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland, the charity that transforms the lives of children and adults through music.

Gold Badge Awards
Hank Marvin, Robert Wyatt, Ruby Turner (pictured), Tasmin Little and Gary Brooker were among the recipients of this year's 36th Gold Badge Awards. Presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music, the Awards honour the work of those who have made a special contribution to Britain's music and entertainment industry. This year's winners represent talent from a broad range of backgrounds, including singers,
the Awards as an annual event. BASCA is delighted that the 2009 British Composer Awards has saluted senior figures and heralded new voices. Winning combinations all round!' Ivor Score
Composers, publishers and agents are invited to enter their film scores for consideration by the 2010 Ivor Novello jury. Eligible films are currently listed on the BASCA website basca.org.uk To qualify for submission, a film must have had a UK cinema release during the 2009 calendar year. A full list of films will be available from 4 January, along with nomination forms and full terms and conditions. The closing date for all Ivors entries is Friday 5 February.
