Media 10 Limited sees magazine sales outperform their market sectors

Media 10 Limited, is this week celebrating yet another solid performance in the latest set of ABC Jan-June 2013 results. With strong performances in both subscriptions and digital magazine sales, the publishing division is pleased that its titles are outperforming their market sectors.

Grand Designs magazine celebrated a 4.4% year on year increase with a new ABC figure of 33,347 total sales. With a high subscriptions penetration of 39%, subscription sales growing by over 5% YoY and digital sales growing by a massive 141% annually to 2,903 sales, the magazine has performed well in difficult times.

With all publishers suffering declining print sales, Grand Designs has outperformed the market by 1% by seeing only a marginal (0.7%) YoY decline in its printed circulation, albeit offset by the increase in digital sales. With the recent government changes in planning permission, making the process simpler and quicker, magazines such as Grand Designs are now the natural choice for consumers revamping their properties.

Gurgle magazine has also released a new total ABC figure of 27,273, which is also outperforming the parenting market sector by 4.8%, which saw a 20.5% YoY decline in print sales. With subscriptions increasing 37% and digital sales increasing by 215% YoY, Gurgle remains the top selling Parenting magazine on the UK newsstand – outselling Mother&Baby, despite the decline in print sales.
