Ideal Home Show Scotland breaks records yet again!

As the fourth successive Ideal Home Show Scotland closed its doors, record numbers were reported to have visited the country's biggest home exhibition over the bank holiday weekend.

Over 46,000 (pending audit) visitors turned out at Glasgow's SECC, making this show the most successful ever, an increase of over 10% on last year's show.
The show which ran over four days from May 23 – 26, featured celebrity ambassadors, Gregg Wallace, George Clarke, John Amabile, Carol Smillie, Diarmuid Gavin and Suzi Perry.

Displayed over 20,000 square metres were exhibitors with 417 stands which covered everything under eight dedicated sections comprising, Gardens, Technology, Home Improvements, Interiors, Food & Housewares, Woman, Shopping and Show Homes.
A first this year for Scotland, were three show homes from the Prince's Foundation. It was a chance for visitors to see these houses before their rebuild at their final destination on the Dumfries Estate in Ayrshire, where they will become homes for people to live in. The houses demonstrated the very best in eco-friendly and versatile living for all the family.

Another popular feature this year came from charity partner Erskine, who went back in time to 1914 to recreate the Road to Victory Garden. This demonstrated how a garden would have looked at the time just before the announcement of the start of WW1. The popular garden feature included allotments, a garden shed, a washing line, scarecrow, tools and even a chicken coop.

"This year's Ideal Home Show Scotland was undoubtedly the best we have put on so far," said Media 10 CEO Lee Newton. " the show boasted some show-stopping features including three full sized show homes for the first time in its history! We are delighted that in its 4th year under Media 10 ownership the show continues to grow and is still the biggest consumer exhibition in Scotland".

Media 10 Head of Sales (Scotland) Lorne Scott said, "This has been a fantastic year for Ideal Home Show Scotland. We've broken all records. Our exhibitor numbers and stand sales are up, we also have increased visitors and our rebooking levels have been at their highest level since Ideal Home Show Scotland started in 2011. This show is an important one in the exhibition calendar for Scotland and these figures prove its continually increasing strength and popularity".
