Clerkenwell Design Week Festival 2014 breaks visitor number records!

This week the Clerkenwell Design Week Festival team are celebrating another year of great success. With over 20,000 attendees and daily visits showing big year on year increases, the event celebrated its fifth birthday in style.

The annual event witnessed leading furniture, lighting and product designs showcased along with exciting home-grown designers in and around the Clerkenwell area. The Festival takes place amongst the show-rooms and centres around four main hubs of exhibitors in some of the most iconic buildings in the area. With over 25 local eateries taking part, an inspirational speaker programme and some of the biggest industry names in attendance, the event was also gifted with perfect weather.

The Design Factory at the Farmiloe Building showcased leading furniture, lighting and product design along with a show-stopping installation from headline sponsors Jaguar and Foscarini.

The House of Detention, introduced Platform, a new hub area that recognised some of the world's most exciting up-and-coming design talent. Exploiting the venue's atmospheric architecture, Platform created a stunning backdrop for a curated collection of international and cutting-edge design.

Detail at The Order of St. John reflected principles of fine craftsmanship and high glamour, showcasing the best and most prestigious names in the luxury interiors world. Selected brands were showcased throughout the venue's majestic Church, Crypt and Cloister garden and included a new pop-up marquee on St. John's Square.

Additions, dedicated to small design pieces and interior accessories took place at the newest venue, the Crypt on the Green, St. James Church. Additions presented a carefully curated group of international brands and emerging talent – making it a festival hotspot for all interior designers, retail buyers, specifiers and the press.
