Media 10 launches South Africa Division with Grand Designs Live

For six incredibly successful years, local business Specialised Exhibitions has worked in partnership with UK-based Media 10 to bring Grand Designs Live to South Africa. This award-winning exhibition has had a massive impact, carving out a reputation as the most exceptional home and garden show, full of innovative features, strong content and fantastic products.

Media 10 has been one of the leaders in exhibition since its inception 12 years ago, with events all over the world including China, Australia, South Africa and Scotland. Media 10 has been running Grand Designs Live in the UK for the past 11 years, with ground-breaking results; it is the most decorated exhibition in the UK. As of June 1st 2015, Media 10 is launching their South African Division and with that Grand Designs Live will form part of their portfolio taking over the full running of the show from Specialised Exhibitions. Specialised Exhibitions aim is to focus more closely on its current trade events as this aligns better with the rest of the South African portfolio. Media 10 aims to grow Grand Designs Live as well as launch additional consumer and trade shows within South Africa.

Since the launch of Grand Designs Live South Africa in 2010, it has established itself as the go-to exhibition for all home and garden needs, winning legions of fans that return annually, and scooping the prize for Best Consumer Exhibition for four years. Media 10 will continue to produce the exhibition with its winning formula and will give it the same level of attention, ingenuity and creativity that it gives other projects in its portfolio, such as the Ideal Home Show, Design Shanghai, Clerkenwell Design Week and the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace.

Regarding the expansion plans in South Africa, CEO of Media 10 Lee Newton commented, " We have had a fantastic relationship with Specialised Exhibitions over the past 6 years and Grand Designs Live has set new ground for consumer events in Africa, but the time is right for us to focus on a permanent base for the company in South Africa and seek to expand our portfolio in the region.
