Media 10 is independently recognised in the latest edition of London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report.
Media 10 has been identified as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. The report, launched in 2013, recognises and celebrates the businesses representing the UK’s greatest prospect for building a resilient and productive economy. The 2017 report gives a platform to companies growing at exceptional rates – 70 per cent on average. Xavier Rolet KBE, the London Stock Exchange Group’s CEO, described the listed companies as “the lifeblood of the UK economy.”
To be included in the independent list, companies needed to demonstrate consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their industry peers. Boasting a portfolio of 30 live events and 13 publications, Essex based Media 10 is one of the most influential events and media companies in the UK. Independently founded by a small team in 2003, the company has since catapulted its growth owning and delivering some of the most iconic events and publications in the country.
Media 10 has also expanded to South Africa and China delivering Design Shanghai – the largest design event in Asia and Design Joburg to enhance the company’s global reputation in the sector. A true champion of British culture and produce, Media 10 is introducing the Ideal Home Show and Best of British in China this year, backed by the 45-strong team in the Media 10 China offices. At home, Media 10 owns and delivers iconic and loved events such as the Ideal Home Show, Grand Designs Live and This Morning Live.
Listed under the creative industries, Media 10 is placed among the fastest growing businesses in the UK, as the report clarifies: “The creative industries have been growing faster than the wider UK economy since 2010, led by key areas such as design, advertising and marketing, music and the performing arts.” The creative industries generate £84.1 billion to the UK economy each year and Media 10, with its extensive portfolio of events and editorial brands, is right at the heart of this growth.
Lee Newton, Media 10’s CEO and Founder, comments: “We are very pleased that Media 10 have been recognised as one of the top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. It has set us apart in the Creative Industries – the fastest growing industry for the third year- where competitiveness is at its fiercest. We are particularly delighted that the independent report has distinguished our business in the Event sector, once more cementing Media 10’s unrivalled leadership.”
Commenting on the report, the Prime Minister, Theresa May said: “Those businesses and many more like them are going to be a crucial part of our mission to build a stronger, fairer country. They are the ones who will help deliver prosperity that is shared by everyone, helping to command the public trust that is needed to maximise the opportunities that free markets and free trade bring.”
Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group explains: “Four years on, LSEG’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report continues to highlight the dynamic, entrepreneurial and ambitious businesses across the country that are boosting UK productivity, driving economic growth and creating jobs. The strength and diversity of these companies is readily apparent with a broad mix of UK regions and sectors represented. These companies are the very heart of an ‘anti-fragile’ economy: more robust; more flexible and less prone to boom and bust. We must ensure we continue doing all we can to support high growth potential businesses like these.”
The Rt Hon Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy: “I want to congratulate the 1000 companies from across the UK featured in London Stock Exchange Group’s pioneering 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. Championing high growth innovative SMEs is crucial for the continued success of the UK economy and a country that works for everyone. We are committed to ensuring that companies of all sizes can access finance to grow, scale-up and create high quality well-paid jobs across the country.”
