British themed cakes, top celebrity guests including Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown and a 15% increase in visitors marked the 6th year of the nation’s leading dedicated baking event in London.

It was a thoroughly British affair at the latest edition of The Cake & Bake Show, with the nation’s favourite historic figures, symbols and even culinary treats recreated in sculptural baking designs put on display.

Britain’s leading live consumer event dedicated to the world of cakes, bakes and the art of baking returned to the ExCeL London earlier this month for its sixth showstopping year, welcoming over 25K baking lovers - a rise of 15% from last edition.

The increasingly popular consumer event unites the nation’s best loved bakers, experts and enthusiasts with a feast of culinary activities, inspiration and entertainment.

Live demonstrations, skill classes, book signings and baking markets greeted guests alongside four of the most formidable celebrity names in the baking world; Rosemary Shrager, John Whaite, Eric Lanlard and Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown. The top guests baked up a storm in the Cake & Bake Super Theatre and Baking Academy, delighting thousands of visitors.

This year, the magnificent display of conceptual cakes included an array of British themes with a special highlight in the form of a supersized British Bulldog installation, crafted by internet sensation Rosie Cake Diva.

Commenting on the success, Rob Nathan, Media 10’s Marketing Director, said: “Each year the Cake & Bake show proves to be a popular date in the calendar for many baking fans and this year is no exception. It’s no secret that baking is seeing a resurgence with today’s generation and its popularity now spans a huge demographic that can attract visitors from far and wide. We’ve curated an event to cater perfectly for those enthusiasts and earlier this month they came in their thousands from across the country, making this a record year for the show.”

The Cake & Bake Show returns to Manchester next month where it shall co-locate at EventCity alongside its sister show Ideal Home Show Christmas and the Eat & Drink Festival from 9 – 12 November.
