Another impressive Ideal Home Show
- The UKs biggest and longest running home and garden exhibition once again delivered another successful edition, now in its 115th year!

The UKs biggest and longest running home and garden exhibition once again delivered another successful edition, now in its 115th year!
The Ideal Home Show, saw 100s of brands, celebrity guests, live talks, life-sized Show Homes, Show Gardens and 17,000+ visitors descend on the iconic Olympia events venue over 17 days.
Industrial action impacting tubes, trains and other sectors, as well as bad weather didn’t stop visitors flocking to the Show with the doors opening on day 1 with a bang and the Show wrapping up day 17 with the busiest Show Day.
Stephen Johnson, Managing Director of Quooker UK & Ireland raved, “The Show is one we have on the calendar every year, now in our fifth-year exhibiting. We do exceptionally well and are delighted with the incredible amount of people we see here – it’s always a successful event”.
The 2023 edition of the Show was boosted by headline partner Sky Glass and its continued partnership with ITV. Opening day was covered live on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, taking viewers through a whistle-stop tour of the impressive event. Continuing the momentum there were more ITV live broadcasts throughout the show duration, promoting the ITV Wins Motorhome Prize Giveaway, which was on display at the Ideal Home Show. This was live on-air multiple times in prime time on Good Morning Britain and Lorraine.
“Innovative, fun and worthwhile” are three words regular Ideal Home Show visitor, Stephen from Twickenham, used to sum up the Show…. “We’ve been coming a few years now, and this year we have been searching for ideas for our new house we just bought. There are some amazing stands, big names and also great independent ones. With over 600 brands on display across edited sections, they go on to say, “you can find a wide variety of great products and services at exceptionally good value, as well as see lots of good innovation.
This year attendees were also able to catch many experts and celebrities including, Stuart & Scarlette Douglas, known for presenting Channel 4 property show; Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lilly aka the Style Sisters, known for transforming celebrity houses and their immaculate organisational skills; Lee Connelly aka the Skinny Jean Gardener, one of the UK’s top TV gardening presenters; and home and interior expert Laurence Llewyn-Bowen with his entertaining look at what it takes to make where you live the perfect background to who you want to be.
First time visitors Rhiannon and Lee from Hemel Hempstead said “the show is a must for anyone working on a home project”. We came to explore the Renovation section of the Show as we are talking on a large refurb extension project, so we have mainly been looking for windows, flooring and radiator ideas. It’s been interesting to talk to the exhibitors and learn more, including a new technology to insulate windows and keep the cold out and warmth in.
Sustainability was a major theme at this year’s Ideal Home Show. Protecting the environment is becoming increasingly important with more people looking at ways to create a home that’s more sustainable by introducing healthier living environments as well as lowering living costs. Event Director, Giles Perry said “we were keen to support our visitors by educating them on how they can simply implement more green practices into their home lives. The iconic life-sized Show Homes, were designed to inspire how a home can ‘make money to save money’ through purposefully created spaces for peer-to-peer rental and innovative self-sufficient solutions that reduce waste and save money. The ever-popular Martin Lewis took to the stage live at the Show, offering plenty of advice and guidance about how to spend smart and cut domestic living costs. Visitors had the chance to put their questions face to face to the Money Saving Expert.
Perry goes onto say “the Ideal Home Show hosted a dedicated programme of live talks from experts offering top tips & advice as well as offer a platform for innovative brands to showcase their products”. Calum Hutchinson, CEO of first-time exhibitor Leaf commented on its participation in the new ‘Spring Clean’ section of the show: “As a young sustainable-focused start-up, we hoped the Ideal Home Show would give us a good platform to reach new customers. The show has completely blown our expectations and we are seeing a lot of love for our products. We’ll be back.”
The world’s oldest exhibition keeps rolling on.
