CEO Lee Newton wins Greatest Inspiration award

It was a proud moment for Media 10 at the Exhibition News Indy Awards, where our CEO and founder Lee Newton was presented with a very special award for inspiring so many people in the industry with the ‘Greatest Independent Inspiration’ award.

Media 10 has grown from a small self-start-up independent business into one of the largest (still independent) event organisers in the industry. Lee has a talent for spotting great people and can spot the potential in an opportunity when nobody else can. Speaking after collecting the award, in front of 400 of his peers, Lee commented, “This accolade came as a huge surprise, I thought I was here for a few drinks with some friends whilst watching other people win.  The team at Media 10 are so proud of what we have all achieved, coming from humble beginnings to own and run some of the biggest and most popular events in the UK calendar. Expanding to international markets was a huge step, launching shows in Shanghai, Beijing, Johannesburg, Helsinki with equally huge success, buying the world famous Ideal Home Show, launching C4s Grand Designs Live and being asked to run the Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace, the list goes on and on which hopefully is something that other independent companies can take inspiration from. On a personal note it is lovely to win an award that is for an individual achievement but that’s only possible if you have the best people around you to share it with and I do.

Rob Nathan said, “seeing Lee pick up this award made myself – and all at Media 10 – incredibly proud. When you think of everything the company has achieved it is quite remarkable, and none of it would be possible without the guidance, motivation and sheer determination of our CEO. Lee is the most entrepreneurial, inventive and inspirational person I have ever worked with and those qualities have made Media 10 the force that it is today. For Lee to pick up this award is testimony for all he has achieved and it’s wonderful that he has been recognised in this way by the events industry.”
