Eat & Drink Festival to delight foodies in its second year

London’s favourite indoor food festival returns, with a mix of world street food, master chefs, artisan producers and live music!
The Eat & Drink Festival is back for its second year at Olympia London from 17 March to 2 April. Celebrating the best of food and drink, the event brings together street food vendors, artisan food producers, top food brands as well as experts in cuisines from around the world and mixologists. From late night dining to shopping for fresh produce, there’s something to everyone’s taste.
The young festival is already a magnet for food and drink appreciators and experts: top food and drink celebrities Aldo Zilli, Monica Galetti, Rosemary Shrager, Dean Edwards, Theo Randall and Olly Smith will showcase live demonstrations on The Foodie Stage and Drinks Station, sharing creative tips and culinary secrets. This is an incentive to reignite the British public’s love of home cooking as a recent survey by Direct Line Insurance revealed that only 50% of people in Britain cook every day. Keen to reawaken the nation’s love of cooking, these household names will bring their culinary skills, recipes and specialist expertise to the show’s kitchens.
One of the advantages of the event is that it is in effect an indoors festival where visitors can browse, relax and taste the best produce without the constraints from the elements. A vibrant and relaxed atmosphere combines all the excitement of an outdoors/market experience in the safety of a spacious and stylish indoors; making it the perfect destination for foodies and a fabulous entertaining day out. Here are some highlights:
- Showcasing the finest flavours in modern cuisine from across the world to the streets of London, The Great Eat area offers samples of a selection of dishes by food visionaries, ranging from Italian to Indian and burgers to bavarois for lunch or dinner.
- At Late Night Thursdays, the country’s top street food vendors serve meals until 9pm, offering a dining experience with live music, performed by London’s up and coming street musicians and artists.
- At The Drinks Station, industry experts share tips and tricks on how to pair food with the right drinks. Creative cocktails crafted by top mixologists and inventive bartenders, can be enjoyed.
- Visitors can take the Eat & Drink experience home; sample and shop for the freshest produce and handmade products at the Artisan Producers’ Markets including juices, jams, flavoured oils, locally-sourced cured meats, seafood, fruits and vegetables.
What is more, all Eat & Drink Festival visitors receive free entry into the Ideal Home Show and access to a world of ideas and inspiration as the show celebrates its 110th anniversary.
